Administrative Console - Remote Access Permissions for Users

In the past, FilesAnywhere had FTP and SFTP combined, but now you can now choose FTP, SFTP, or both remote access options for your users.

User Creation or Editing

While creating or editing a user, you can choose to grant them FTP and/or SFTP access.

  1. Create or Edit a user.

  2. Click on the Advanced tab on the left.

  3. Under Remote Access Permissions, select if you want the user to have FTP, SFTP, or both options.

  4. Once you have enabled FTP and/or SFTP, specify the default folder that you wish to use.

    Note: FTP and/or SFTP can only point to one directory at a time.  This is a limitation of the connection.
     
  5. Once you have chosen your settings for the user, click the Save and Close button to finalize creation/editing of the user.

In the User Grid - Remote Access Permissions

To further facilitate the changes we've made to the FTP/SFTP access, the Remote Access Permissions column will now reflect the new changes.

  1. Navigate to the User Grid by selecting Users and then Users in the drop down menu.

  2. Notice the Remote Access Permissions column on the right side of each user.

  3. The permissions have now been changed to reflect the new changes.

  4. The permissions are displayed as follows:
    08-None.png No Permission means that there are no Remote Access Permissions assigned to this user.
    10FTP.png FTP means that only FTP access is assigned to this user.
    09-SFTP.png SFTP means that only SFTP access is assigned to this user.
    11WEBDAV.png WEBDAV means that only WebDAV access is assigned to this user.

    FTP,SFTP,WEBDAV means that all Remote Access Permissions are assigned to this user.

In the User Grid - Filters

The filters in the User Grid have also been modified to reflect the new changes to FTP and SFTP.

  1. Navigate to the User Grid by selecting Users and then Users in the drop down menu.

  2. Once in the User Grid, click on the Filters button.

  3. The Account Settings section should open automatically.

  4. Look for the Access Permissions area.  You will notice that FTP and SFTP can be filtered for individually now.
