How to manage your Office Online Editor settings from your Profile

If you have a personal FilesAnywhere account, the Office Online Editor is enabled by default in your profile. If you have a Professional or Enterprise FilesAnywhere account, whether the Office Online Editor is enabled or not is controlled by your administrator. However, Office Online may not be the default editor. You can make it your default editor, or, disable it, from your profile. Here is how:

1. To get to your profile, either click on your profile image on the top right corner, or click on your name and select Profile/Account.

        or

2. Select App & Service Plugins menu option from the left hand side menu.

Note: If you do not see the App & Service Plugins menu option, your administrator has probably either disabled all plugins, or, disabled the Allow users to enable plugins from the Admin Console Site Configuration. In such a case please contact your administrator.

3. Scroll down and you will see the Office Online editor settings. Here you can make it your default editor, disable it or enable it from a disabled state. If Office Online is your default editor, you can make another editor your default editor.

If you have a Personal FilesAnywhere account, you will also see a link "Sign up for an Office 365 Account" as in the picture below. Clicking on this link will open a new window taking you to the Office 365 portal where you can sign up for a new account. Please note however that an Office 365 account is not needed by a Personal FilesAnywhere account user to edit Office documents from FilesAnywhere using the Office Online editor.

If you have a Professional or Enterprise FilesAnywhere account, you will not see the link "Sign up for an Office 365 Account" as in the picture above. Instead you may see a "Remove Office Online Account Association" link as in the image below. This link will appear if you have attempted to edit an Office document using the Office Online editor and have signed in to your Office 365 account from the edit window. In such a case, FilesAnywhere stores a token which was passed back by Microsoft when you signed in with your Office 365 credentials in the edit window, so that when you try to edit another Office document, you don't have to sign in again.

How to use a different Office 365 account: In case you need to use a different Office 365 account, you can click on the "Remove Office Online Account Association" link. This will remove your Office 365 account token from FilesAnywhere. However, because that information may also be cached in your browser, you will need to clear your browser cache and close all browser windows before you attempt to sign in with a different Office 365 account.

Note: If you do not see the Make Default Editor button or the Default Editor button as in the picture below, then your administrator has disabled the Allow users to set the default editor option from the Admin Console Site Configuration. In such a case please contact your administrator. If you are an administrator you can learn how to manage Office Online Editor settings from the admin console here.
