New Look: Office Online Editor

FilesAnywhere has incorporated the Microsoft Office Online editor which allows users to edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents without the hassle of downloading and re-uploading them.

(Note : Office Online does not support editing of older version (1997-2003) MS Office files (xls, doc, ppt). Only the newer versions (xlsx, docx and pptx) are supported. Older versions will be opened in the PDF viewer instead.)

How to use the Office Online Editor

  1. Log in to your account. 
  2. Select the file you want to edit and right-click it
  3. Hover over More
  4. Mouse over Service Plugins
  5. Select Edit with Microsoft

 

 6. Once selected the document will open in the Microsoft Editor

7. From there you can make the changes as necessary.

8. Click the Save button and close the document once it has been saved.

How to Enable or Disable Office Online Editor

(If you do not see these options please contact your Administrator to have the Microsoft Plugin Enabled)

1. Log into your account

2. Select My Profile

3. Then select My Account

4. From the Left menu use the drop-down arrow next to settings.

5. Click on Service Plugins 

6. Scroll down till you see Microsoft Office Online Editor for Spreadsheets, Documents, Slideshows

7. Here you can enable by putting in a checkmark next to Document Editor, Or disable by clicking on disable.

Data Security

If you need to share your data but need to protect it from copying and pasting. Follow the steps below.

Word Documents

This will prevent the Recipient from copying or pasting any information from the document shared.

1. Select your File

2. Right Click and Select FileShare

3. Select Settings

4. Click on Access

5. Select View Only

6. Select Custom Watermark

Excel Documents

This will prevent the Recipient from copying or pasting any information from your Excel document.

1. Select your File

2. Right Click and Select FileShare

3. Click Settings

4. Click on Access

5. Select View Only
