How to remove and/or uninstall the local Outlook Add-in

The new Outlook Add-in is available in the Microsoft App store.  If you are transitioning from the old add-in to the new, you may want to remove it from Outlook or uninstall it completely from your system.  Here are the steps to accomplish both of these options.

How to remove the old Outlook Add-In from Outlook

  1. Open Outlook
  2. At the top of the screen, click on File from the menu

  3. Once on the main screen, click on Options on the left

  4. Once the Outlook Options screen appears, click on Add-ins on the left
  5. Make sure that "COM Add-ins" is selected in the Manage dropdown
  6. Click on the Go... button

  7. Once the COM Add-ins screen appears, select the FilesAnywhere Outlook Add-In from the list
  8. Click on Remove to remove it from the list
  9. Click on OK to continue
  10. The add-in will now be removed from the Outlook Ribbon

How to uninstall the old Outlook Add-In from your computer

These instructions are for Windows 11.  If you have an older operating system, please consult Microsoft's help center for how to uninstall apps.

  1. From the search bar in your taskbar, type "uinstall"
  2. From the options that appear, click on Installed apps

  3. Once the Installed apps screen appears, from the search bar, type "FilesAnywhere" to filter your apps
  4. Locate the FilesAnywhere Outlook Add-In app and click on the three dots on the right side
  5. Select Uninstall from the menu
  6. A warning popup will appear, select Uninstall
  7. The Microsoft Office Customization Installer window will appear
  8. Select OK to confirm the uninstallation of the app
  9. The Add-In will now be uninstalled from your computer
