How to Create or Edit a GroupShare Expiration Setting

We've made GroupShares more flexible by adding the ability to enable an expiration time.

How to Create a GroupShare with an Expiration

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Click on the Share tab at the top of the screen.

  3. Click on the Create GroupShare button.

  4. Once the GroupShare Settings window appears, you'll be able to make all the standard selections in addition to the expiration.
  5. The expiration selection is similar to setting the expiration on a FileShare or FileRecieve link.

  6. Once you set your expiration, click the Add User/Group to finalize the GroupShare.
  7. Once it's added, you'll see it in the list below.

What is the Custom Expiration Setting

This setting specifically allows you to set an available time and date for the GroupShare to expire.

  1. Select Custom from the expiration list options.

  2. The interface will change to display additional options such as date and time.

  • Date - Clicking on this filed pulls up a calendar that can be set to the current date or to a date in the future.

  • Time - These two fields allow you to set the time of the expiration for any available hour of the date selected.

Note: The time settings are related to the time zone of the user account sharing the folder, not the user whom you are sharing the folder with.

Note: The default time zone for accounts is CDT.  To check your time zone setting, click on your name in the top right-hand corner and select Profile/Account.  Then click on the User View Settings.

 

How to Edit an Existing GroupShare's Expiration

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Right Click on the folder that you wish to edit the GroupShare
  3. Navigate to Send /Share -> GroupShare from the menu.

  4. When the GroupShare Settings window appears, find the one you wish to edit and click on the pencil icon.

  5. Once you click on the edit icon, it will change to a view icon and the GroupShare information will be populated above the list.

  6. From here you can make the changes necessary and then click the Save User/Group button.
