Sinch Fax Configuration by Account Type
For Sending Faxes
When configuring your Sinch Fax, you'll need to provide your Access Key ID, Key Secret, and Project ID.
How to set up your Access Key ID & Key Secret
- Log into your Sinch account
- On the bottom left, click on Settings
- Click on Access Keys
- Click on Create access key
- Enter a name for the access key and then click Create
- This will generate your Access Key and your Key Secret
As the message says, you will need to copy these items somewhere safe for recalling later.
How to locate your Project ID
Your Project ID can be located on your Access Key page, or you can find it on the General Settings page.
- Log into your Sinch account
- On the bottom left, click on Settings
- Click on General Settings
- On the General Settings screen you will see your Project name and the Project ID
- Copy the Project ID to the right of your Project Name
Additional Requirements for Receiving Faxes
When you want to recieve faxes, you will need to provide a Service ID and the Inbound Fax Number you've purchased from Sinch fax
How to locate your Service ID
- Log into your Sinch account
- On the bottom left, click on Fax
- Then click on Services
- Under Your Services is the Default Service
The Service ID is under the name, copy this
How to locate and configure your Sinch Fax Number
- Log into your Sinch account
- On the top left, click on Numbers
- Click on Get virtual numbers
- From there you can fill out the search criteria you want
- Click Search
- Then locate a number you wish to purchase.
It is important to make sure that the number has VOICE capability. - Then click Get and purpchase your number
- After purchasing your virtual number you click on Your virtual numbers on the left
- Under Your Numbers, click on the number you purchased
- Scroll down to Voice Configuration
- Click on the raido button for Fax
- Under Service, make sure Default Service is selected
- Click Save
This will allow you to use that number as an inbound fax number
Configure Sinch Fax for Professional accounts
You'll have to set up your Sinch details in two areas in your admin console. For the overall faxing service, you'll need to set up details in the Site Configuration -> Plugins page. For inbound faxing, you'll have to assign numbers to users in the User Grid.
Professional Account: Site Configuration Settings
- Log into your admin console
- Click on Site Configuration
- Click on Plugins
- Scroll down to Sinch Fax Service
- Click the On/Off button on the top right to enable the plugin
- Check the boxes to enable the type of faxing you need
Sending Faxes and/or Recieving Faxes - Then enter in the Sinch information: Access Key ID, Key Secret, Project Id, and Service Id
- Click Save Site Configuration
Professional Account: User Inbound Fax Settings
- Log into the Admin Console
- Click on Users
- Click on the user you wish to add an inbound fax number for
- When editing the user, click on the Plugins tab
- Scroll down to Sinch Faxing Service
- Click the On/Off button on the top right to enable the plugin
- Check the boxes to enable the type of faxing you need
Sending Faxes and/or Recieving Faxes - Once you enable Recieving Faxes, you will be prompted to enter the Sinch Inbound Fax number
- Click Save and Close
Configure Sinch Fax for Business Starter accounts
- After creating your Sinch account, log into your FilesAnywhere account
- Click on the My Profile icon in the top right corner
- Click on My Account
- Click on Settings on the left
- Click on Service Plugins
- Scroll down to the Sinch Fax Service
- Click Enable Sinch Faxing
- To send Faxes, enter in the Access Key ID, Key Secret, and Project Id
- To receive faxes, you will need to first purchase a virtual number from Sinch
- Click the checkbox for Enable Inbound Faxing
- Then enter your Service Id and Fax Number
- Click Save
