What is it?
FAi (FilesAnywhere AI)—a faster, smarter way to find and understand information within your files.
With the new Ask Questions feature, you can simply type a question and receive a clear, accurate answer pulled directly from your document—no more scrolling or manual searching. Each question is processed individually, making it ideal for quick, precise lookups.
Examples:
- “What is this document about?”
- “Does this file mention pricing?”
- “What are the key dates?”
- “Summarize this document in a few sentences.”
- “What are the differences between these two files?”
FAi also includes enhanced search capabilities and is powered by OpenAI and/or other available AI models to deliver highly relevant results. You can compare files, summarize content, and uncover key insights in seconds.

Where is it located?
Once enabled, FAi is located in two primary places within the UI
The first location is at the top of your screen
You'll see an "Ask FAi" button. You can use this button to ask questions that will generate AI-assisted search results for data within your entire account
Example prompts for this area are:
- "List all PDF files."
- "Find all files uploaded in the last 7 days."
- "Show all images modified last week."
The second location is in line with supported files and folders
You'll see a chat bubble with a + symbol inside it in front of the favorites button
When using this button on a folder, you will be able to ask questions that will generate AI-assisted search results for data within that specific folder.
When using this button on a supported file, you'll be able to ask questions about the content of that file. Everything from providing a content summary, extracting important data, or comparing it with other files.
Example prompts for this area are:
- "Summarize this document."
- "What are the key takeaways?"
- "Extract important fields."
- "List important dates mentioned."
